Wedding, France-Russia-Germany, 2000, 114 min, Cannes
2000–Special Prize for best acting company, Directed by Pavel Lungin, (Luna
Park and Taxi Blues). For
the latter he was awarded the pirze for best director at the Cannes Film
Festival. The Wedding tells a
story of a young woman's return to her small provincial town after several
years working as a model. She
falls in love with her high school sweetheart.
A tragic comedy with a happy ending.
The film will be subtitled and introduced by Galina Aksenova,
(Department of Russian Studies, Smith College). |
