Debut Screening of “Siberian Dream.” The film traces the impact of economic reform on southern Siberia , closed to outsiders for more than half a century. The Pantaeva family of artists and shamen unravel Buryatia’s hidden history as “Siberian Dream” celebrates their endangered Central Asian culture. A discussion of the revival of Buddhism and Shamanism in the Russian Federation will follow the documentary. The discussion will be led by Prof. Robert A. F. Thurman.
