Biography:
Anna Della Valle teaches the full-year sequence in economics for international affairs in the MIA program. She is also an adjunct professor in the economics department of New York University where she teaches Industrial Organization.

From 1991 to 2001, Professor Della Valle has held positions as adjunct professor in the economics departments of Columbia and New York Universities and the School of International Affairs at Columbia University, where she has taught the following courses: Principles of Economics, Topics in Public Economics, Microeconomics and Public Policy Analysis, and Statistical Methods.

From 1984 to 1998, she held positions as senior analyst and senior consultant at National Economics Research Associates, an economic consulting firm where she was responsible for managing domestic and international projects involving microeconomic analysis in the electric, telecommunications, and media industries.

Dr. Della Valle holds a BA in mathematics from McGill University (1979) and an MA (1981) and PhD (1984) in economics from Columbia University. Her publications include "Recent Developments in FCC Legislation Governing Broadcast Media and Cross-Ownership," with R.J. MacDonald in Economia della Cultura (2004); "Mass Media and the Performing Arts or Mickey Mouse and the Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" in Economia della Cultura (2000); and "The Restructuring of the U.S. Electric Power Industry: From Trickle to Flood" with P. Shioshansi in Privatization International (1997).
