Biography:
Ruth Borgman is a lecturer in discipline, Spanish, and Portuguese.

She has authored Contemporary Mexico.

She received her certification as an oral proficiency tester, ACTFL/ETS in 1989. She has been an NEH scholar in Latin American Studies, Mexico, and the Caribbean for various summer institutes, most recently the NRC collaboration at Iowa State University from 1994 to 2000. She was the project director of the three colloquia, Mexican Intellectuals of the 20th Century, from 1997 to 2000.

Borgman received her BA from Wheaton College in 1966. In 1969, she received an MA from Universidad de Puerto Rico and a PhD from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Méjico in 1982.
