Alumni Career Advisory Program (ACAP)
SIPA students and alumni rely greatly on alumni for career guidance, and as such, we invite you to participate as a career mentor through Alumni Career Advisory Program (ACAP). By making yourself available to current students and other alumni, you can provide invaluable industry and career knowledge to those who need it the most. ACAP is part of our online alumni directory, SIPA Global Connection, which consists of more than 14,000 SIPA graduates living in 153 countries around the world. ACAP is a database of SIPA alumni, representing diverse career fields, who have offered to share their career experience with students and alumni.
ACAP requires a time commitment from its participants. To ensure it stays that way, the ACAP system limits the number of times a student may contact alumni in a given day.
As you change jobs and careers, you can easily update your own information in SIPA Global Connection.
You can use ACAP to network with your fellow alumni professionally. Use it when you plan to change cities, countries, or careers.
We encourage you to join the more than 1,200 alumni who participate in ACAP. We would appreciate from all alumni who participate in ACAP to:

How to Register
To use this system you will need your UNI (Columbia's unique user name for all alumni, students, faculty, and staff) and password. Typically, your UNI is your initials followed by an arbitrary number, e.g. jk122.
If you know your UNI and password, log on to http://www.alumniconnections.com/SIPA. You will be prompted to enter your UNI and password in order to access the ACAP database and the Alumni Directory.
If you know your UNI, but have forgotten your password, access: https://alumni.columbia.edu/secure/s2_4b.html and request that your password be reset.
If you do not know your UNI and password, access: https://www1.columbia.edu/sec/acis/manageaccount/alumni-create.html. A temporary UNI will be sent to you so you can create a password.*
*NOTE: Your PIN and password are NOT the same thing. Columbia University assigns a one-time, temporary PIN so first-time users (or those who need to reset their password) can log on to choose a secret, unique password. Passwords are encrypted and only know to YOU.
If you experience any difficulty with the ACAP registration process or have general questions about ACAP, please contact the Assistant Director, Career Events and Alumni Relations.
To be removed from ACAP
If you no longer wish to serve as a career mentor, please email us at sipa_ocs@columbia.edu have your contact information removed from the directory.
