Sustainable Development Doctoral Society (SDDS) at SIPA
The SDDS is the association of PhD students in sustainable development. It serves as a forum for discussion both on sustainability science research and on the design, implementation, and evaluation of practical interventions that promote sustainability. To this end, the SDDS organizes advanced seminars, held by Columbia faculty members or invited professors, addressed to graduate students, as well as talks open to all Columbia University students. The SDDS seeks to improve linkages between academia and policy makers by organizing workshops in collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations. The SDDS also advocates specific measures that promote sustainability at the campus, local, national, and international levels.
