GIVE YOUR WAY
Ways to Give
You can chose to give to SIPA in many ways. Most donors choose cash and cash equivalents, whether as annual gifts, one-time gifts, or gifts pledged over a period of years.
Joan Spero, SIPA ’68, SIPA Donor - Joan Spero, SIPA ’68, reflects on the impact of a SIPA education, her diverse career path and the importance of giving back to the SIPA Community.
Peter Marber, SIPA ’87, SIPA Donor - Peter Marber, SIPA ’87, Head of Emerging Markets Investments, Loomis, Sayles & Co., discusses his personal continued involvement with SIPA over the past 30 years.
A cash gift entitles you to the most generous federal income-tax charitable deduction up to 50 percent of adjusted gross income. If all deductible gifts in that year exceed the 50-percent limit, the excess amount may be carried over as a deduction for up to five years.
Many companies will make a matching gift to SIPA when one of their employees makes a donation. To find out if your company has such a program, use our convenient search engine.
Your check should be made payable to Columbia University and, to ensure that it is properly credited, must be accompanied by a letter outlining the purpose of the gift. Mail checks to the Gift Systems department at the following address:
