TECHO Ecuador, a community development NGO, provided transitional housing to four communities in the northwest coastal area of Ecuador following the April 16, 2016 7.8 magnitude earthquake. The gender-balanced SIPA Team was tasked with providing an evaluation of the earthquake response focusing on the improvements the housing brought to people who received it from TECHO Ecuador and an evaluation of the organization’s needs assessment process at both the community and household level. The SIPA Team used a mixed methods approach to gather information that led to actionable recommendations and items for consideration for TECHO Ecuador.
