MeXCo Soluciones, a fintech sales intermediary, is deploying a salesforce of middle-aged female footsoldiers from lower socioeconomic status to offer a range of financial products and services to micro, small and medium enterprises in Mexico City. The MeXCo Soluciones Team believes that clients will better understand, adopt and utilize financial technology when it is sold by people they can relate to and trust. From November 2018 to May 2019, a four-person team from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs worked alongside the two founders and the four sales-women of MeXCo Soluciones to provide recommendations for a sustainable business model with the ultimate objective of fostering financial inclusion in Mexico City while addressing discrimination against middle-aged women in the labor market.
