Columbia University’s SIPA offers the opportunity to study in Berlin at the Hertie School of Governance and earn degrees from both SIPA and the Hertie School in the same amount of time it takes to earn one degree. Both MIA and MPA first year SIPA students may apply to the dual degree program. Upon completion of the program, students will obtain a Masters of Public Policy (MPP) degree from the Hertie School of Governance, as well as a Masters Degree from SIPA.
The language of instruction is English.

Tuition, Fees and Financial Aid
Students pay tuition and fees to the school where they are in residence (e.g., if you attending Hertie, you will pay Hertie tuition and fees, and similarly at SIPA). Students who begin at Hertie will be enrolled in Columbia University health insurance or have comparable insurance coverage when they are at Columbia during their second year. Links to tuition and fees are below:
Through the generous gift of the Julius Blocker estate, some students admitted into this program have the opportunity to receive limited funding for their program of study in their second year. No application is required – you will be automatically considered for the funding when you apply.
