In partnership with the Prime Minister’s office, the Picker Center created a two-week
training program for the top public officials, including the prime minister, ministers,
central bank leadership, deputy ministers, and agency heads, in the Republic of Georgia
on economic policy and public management issues. The economic policy issues
included promoting innovation and growth, addressing inequality, encouraging exports,
managing foreign direct investment and other financial flows, monetary and exchange
rate policy, and investing in human capital; the public management topics covered were
management innovation, public-private and public-non- profit partnerships,
privatization, risk management and strategic management. The course combined
lectures and case study analysis.
