SIPA’s graduates are making an impact across the globe as leaders in government, private sector and non-governmental organizations. There are many ways SIPA alumni can get involved in supporting the professional development of SIPA students.
SPEAK ON A CAREER PANEL (NYC or DC)
The Office of Career Services (OCS) invites alumni to share their career experience on industry-specific panels in New York City throughout the academic year or in Washington, DC at the annual Career Conference in January. For more information, please contact Jill McIntosh, Assistant Director, Career Events and Alumni Relations at email@example.com.
POST AN INTERNSHIP OR JOB
Let us know of internship or full-time employment opportunities of interest to SIPA students and alumni. Please email job announcements to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will post them on SIPALink.
HELP ARRANGE AN EMPLOYER INFORMATION SESSION
Encourage recruiters or hiring managers to add SIPA to their target schools list or visit campus to host an information session. Please contact Pat Macken, Director of Employer Relations, for more information.
SPONSOR A CAPSTONE PROJECT
The Columbia SIPA workshops apply the practical skills and analytical knowledge learned at SIPA to a real-world issue. The workshops partner a team of graduate students, led by an expert faculty advisor, with an external organization to analyze real policy issues and recommend actions for client organizations. ATTEND AN ALUMNI-STUDENT NETWORKING EVENT
The Office of Career Services sponsors three annual Alumni-Student Networking Receptions each year: The NYC Private Sector reception in October, the DC Career Conference reception in January and the NYC Public Sector reception in February. Other SIPA programs and student groups also host receptions for alumni during the academic year. Watch for your invitations or visit the alumni events calendar here.
