Former Chairman and CEO of The Coca-Cola Company
Muhtar Kent is former Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Coca-Cola Company. From 2009 to 2017, he served as the company’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and previously, from 2006 to 2009, he also served as President and Chief Operating Officer. Since 1989, he has served in several high-level positions within The Coca-Cola Company including: President of the Company’s East Central Europe Division; Senior Vice President of Coca-Cola International; President and Chief Operating Officer of Coca-Cola North Asia, Eurasia and Middle East Group; and President of Coca-Cola International.
Mr. Kent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Hull in England, and a Master of Science degree in Administrative Sciences from Cass Business School, City University London. He has a record of global corporate leadership, support of gender equality, and commitment to environmentally sustainable business practices. Active in the global business community, Mr. Kent is the past Chairman of the International Business Council of the World Economic Forum and a member of its Chairman’s Community, a member of the Concordia Leadership Council, a past Chairman of the U.S.-China Business Council, a past board member of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations, and Chairman Emeritus of the U.S. ASEAN Business Council. He serves on the boards of 3M, Special Olympics International, Catalyst, Cambridge China Development Trust, and Emory University.
