Seth Freeman, JD, is a professor of negotiation and conflict management at Columbia SIPA and at NYU's Stern School of Business. He also has an active training and consulting practice, advising and teaching leaders from Fortune 500 companies, the United Nations, and other firms and non-profits. He is also a visiting professor of International Negotiation at several programs abroad in France and China.

Negotiating Recession: Simple Keys to Better Results in Tough Times

In this practical, encouraging session, you'll learn simple, powerful ways to negotiate mutually-satisfying deals with landlords, suppliers, creditors, customers, and others, even if you feel weak. You'll discover how to find creative solutions, harness little-known sources of power, deal well with tough counterparts and emotions, and do it all with integrity and decency. Especially useful if, like most of us, you don't like negotiating. Engaging exercises complement brief, interactive talks. (90 minutes + an optional 20-minute after-session capstone simulated negotiation)
