Ruiwen Lee is a fifth year PhD candidate in Sustainable Development. She researches environmental and energy economics using a wide range of data sources, including satellite imagery and survey data. Her current projects are:
Using satellite data to study oil and gas producers' flaring behavior.
Evaluating the impact of weather index insurance on farming households in Ethiopia.
Analyzing household air-conditioning behavior in the US using a large thermostat dataset to understand.
Ruiwen’s professional experience includes economics and policy research at the Environmental Defense Fund, and political analysis at the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from Princeton University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore.
