Xinming Du is a third year PhD student. She holds a bachelor degree in Environmental Engineering and Economics from Tsinghua University in China. Her previous research studied environmental issues using economic and statististical methods, and topics covering industrial emission behaviors, urban water systems and air quality prediction. She also worked as research assistant on projects about emission trading schemes and China’s climate policy.

Before joining Columbia, Xinming held internships at UNDP, Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy, the International Council on Clean Transportation, and National Ministry of Environmental Protection in China. She also participated in United Nations Framework Convention of Climate Change and the Stockholm, Basel and Rotterdam Convention as a party delegate.
