André Corrêa d’Almeida, Ph.D., M.Sc., is a development and political economist with more than twenty years of entrepreneurial, management, academic, and leadership experience with applied multidisciplinary programs, teaching, research and consultancy carried out in the United States, Europe, Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and China. André Corrêa d'Almeida is Adjunct Associate Professor of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, where he is also Assistant Director of the Master of Public Administration in Development Practice program (MPA-DP) at the School of International and Public Affairs and the Earth Institute. At the MPA-DP he created the Development Practice Lab for high-potential development practitioners and currently leads several AI initiatives. He also created a global network of scholars to study and build innovation networks for urban systems and institutions. While Research Director at New Lab, where he created the Circular City Data Research Program, he founded the Circular City Research Journal. A former Senior Adviser to the United Nations Development Program for program evaluation, he has his research published in several areas of Social Economics, Institutional Development and Circular City, has received multiple research grants and awards, and is a regular contributor to Apolitical, Huffington Post, The Guardian and Publico.
