Russia and Cyber: The Way Forward

In January 2017 the U.S. Intelligence community released a declassified report to Congress assessing that Russia sought to influence the 2016 U.S. elections, including through covert cyber operations. As the Trump administration attempts to reset relations with Russia, how will cyber security concerns factor into its calculations? What viable options exist to address adverse activity in the cyber domain? What does the future hold for broader US-Russia relations and those across the region?

Keynote remarks by Toomas Ilves, former president of Estonia, are followed by a panel discussion among Ilves and Columbia faculty experts Timothy Frye, Kimberly Marten, and Jason Healey. Dean Merit E. Janow of SIPA moderates.
