Presidential Management Fellows Include 11 Students and Alumni

Congratulations to the nine SIPA students and two alumni selected to join the Presidential Management Fellows (PMF) Class of 2018!



This year’s SIPA-affiliated Finalists are Andrew M. Beehler MIA ’18 (EPD), Brian Chang MIA ’18 (ISP), Kevin J. Gilmartin MPA ’18 (IFEP), Stephanie Hunsucker MPA-ESP ’18, Mark P. Jamias MIA ’18 (EPD), Erika R. Karsh MIA ’18 (EPD), Robert C. Lehmann MIA ’18 (EPD), Nicholas Reinhold MIA ’17 (ISP), Kasumi Takahashi MPA ’17 (HRHP), Nora A. Updegrove MIA ’18 (ISP), and Robert W. Ward ’18 (ISP).



As in past years SIPA excelled in the assessment process; our students and alumni represent 11 of the 14 PMF Finalists selected from Columbia University. The prestigious management program received 6,040 applications overall, and ultimately chose 425 Finalists—about 7 percent. All told, the 2018 Finalists represent 69 different disciplines and 161 academic institutions; 15 percent are veterans.
