Timothy Geithner Visits SIPA

Posted Feb 17 2016

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy F. Geithner, who served in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2013, visited SIPA on February 11. In a one-hour session with students from the International Finance and Economic Policy concentration and the Program in Economic Policy Management, Geithner discussed the ways that financial reforms have made the global financial system both more and less safe since the 2008 crisis. He later joined a gathering of SIPA faculty for additional informal discussion.

Patricia Mosser, a senior research scholar and director of SIPA's initiative on central banking, facilitated the discussion.
