As a member of Columbia University, SIPA students, faculty and staff are eligible for educational pricing for computer purchases with Columbia Vendors, All faculty purchases with university funds must be purchased by SIPA IT. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to initiate such purchases.
CU Purchasing has contracts with several vendors for windows-based systems and Apple products. SIPA supports the following operating systems for administrators, staff and students in labs and offices.

Apple Custom Store
Apple offers a customized online store offering systems to students, faculty and staff at a substantial discount. Discounts will mean extra savings over and above the education discount on selected computer bundles. Discounts vary as promotions change.
Dell computers can be purchased by logging in with your UNI at: http://finance.columbia.edu/content/computer-equipment-laptops-desktops.
CU has negotiated educational pricing for various software. A list of CU vendors can be found here. CU also has a Microsoft Campus Agreement for Windows OS, MS Office, MS Project and MS Visio, which SIPA students, faculty and staff can download. Other products available for download include Symantec anti-virus, SSh and WINSCP.
Faculty can request purchase of additional software through SIPA IT, such as Stata and Scientific WorkPlace. CU has site licenses for several statistical programs and faculty can request to purchase a license for Mathematica, Matlab, SPSS and SAS.
