mySIPA Citrix portal provides students access to applications on-demand and remote access to data on the SIPA network. To access the SIPA network over the web, each user must have the Citrix receiver installed on their Windows or Mac laptop. If the receiver is missing, it can be downloaded from the login screen of the portal. Accessing the SIPA network requires a valid SIPA network ID each semester. Students must present their Columbia University ID in the 510 SIPA Computer lab for validation each semester.

Notes: 

Mac OS Catalina: You can use Google Chrome or Firefox to log in from the browser. Please go to the advanced setting when you log into Citrix web page on the upper right-hand side. Click on the Advanced tab and select Web browser. 

  • Light Version browser login recommended (see below)
  • Only Operating Systems (OS) in English language are supported. 
  • Please remember to Logout at the end of each session and not leave any session unattended.

Logging with Light Version

  • Light Version” allows Citrix desktop access without the need to install Citrix Recevier with limited functionality (see table below).

Difference between web (light version) vs full receiver/workspace

  • You will NOT have access to local computing resources such as printers, thumb drives, local hard drives, etc.
  • The Desktop session will display in the browser rather than a separate window in Workspace.

  1. Can upload and download files from end point but not folder. Access upload and download via drop down menu.
  2. Cannot browse My Computer inside Citrix to access local resources – e.g flash drive, c drive and etc.
  3. Can download files from Citrix into end point. Downloads will only go to the default download location of end point browser.
  4. Cannot print to end point printer – Citrix Universal printer.
  5. Note: There’s is a limit on how much files you can upload at one – just tied to upload 11 files (total size 48MB and it failed with warning exceeded limit. Retry on 2nd attempt with 3 files at 17MB and it when through.
