Rumaisah (she/her/hers) is a first-year MPA student, concentrating in Human Rights & Humanitarian Policy with a specialization in Data Analytics & Quantitative Analysis. Prior to coming to SIPA, Rumaisah completed her undergraduate degree at New York University (NYU), and now holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Psychology & Public Policy. During her undergraduate career, she interned and volunteered at the New York State Senate, American Red Cross, International Rescue Committee, UNICEF, and other non-profit and government organizations. Her interests lie in research and the policy-making process, specifically the development and implementation of human rights-based policies across different sectors and fields (such as immigration). She is also passionate about creating a sense of belonging and community at Columbia, and does this through her role as a University Life Ambassador.
